Katrina Kaif was born and brought up in London to a Kashmiri Father and a British Mother. While her stint at modeling in London, she came to the notice of filmmaker Kaizad Gustad and bagged an important role in his film Boo. It was this move that encouraged Katrina to take on to acting in Bollywood as her full-fledged career and shift her base to Mumbai.
Flooded with modeling assignments in Mumbai, she took onto the big screen with movies like Sarkar and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. Her forthcoming movies include Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye, Sholay and Welcome.Filmmaker Kaizad Gustad discovered Katrina in London and gave her a part in his film Boom. Kaif soon moved permanently to Mumbai and was offered a number of modeling assignments. However, filmmakers were at first hesitant to sign her because of her linguistic shortcomings, such as her inability to speak Hindi. Films that did feature her usually had her voice dubbed over by a native speaker of the film's language. This changed with the film, Namastey London,along side Akshay Kumar & later Apne, in which she dubbed her own line.Katrina Kaif started her career as Bollywood actress from film "Boom", offered by film-maker Kaizad Gustad. Boom was her learning experience and some things going wrong. She did Telugu movies such as Allari Pidugu and Malliswari. In 2005, she has also done Hindi film- Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. She performed well in this movie. Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Sushmita Sen were her co-star in this movie. This movie did well at the box office. After this she got name and fame overnight. She has also appeared in Sarkar and she got well experience in this movie. She has also done Tamil movie -Bheema with Vikram as co-star. Malayam
